Imagine guiding a robotic arm to perform delicate medical procedures with precision and ease. That’s just one of the many innovative experiences you’ll discover at Medical Fair Asia 2024, the region’s premier exhibition for the medical and healthcare industry.

Medical Fair Asia 2024, along with sister exhibitions Medical Manufacturing Asia 2024 and Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition for Asia 2024, is taking place between Sep 11 and Sep 13 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

The strategically located venue offers convenient access to a diverse range of international exhibitors from the medical and healthcare, medical manufacturing and workplace safety and health sectors, alongside conferences and seminars on more than 80 future-focused topics by over 100 subject experts. More than 1,200 exhibitors from 62 countries – spread across 18 national pavilions and country groups – are expected to attend.

The three trade events are under the umbrella of Messe Düsseldorf Asia, which is co-organising Medical Manufacturing Asia 2024 with the Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association. Messe Düsseldorf Asia is a subsidiary of international trade fair organiser Messel Düsseldorf GmbH.

SHOWCASING WORLD-CLASS INNOVATIONS

As a first-time exhibitor at the fair’s German Pavilion, Kuka Deutschland – which produces robotic components for integration into medical products – is looking forward to exploring partnerships with medical technology companies in Singapore and the region, said Ms Silke Wendt, who heads the company’s global marketing for medical robotics in the Business Segment Robotics department.

Exhibiting at Medical Fair Asia 2024 offers Kuka Deutschland a valuable opportunity to showcase its certified LBR Med robotic arm, highlighting its safety, versatility, platform concept and market readiness, she added.

Over at Medical Manufacturing Asia 2024, Singapore-based global contract development and med-tech manufacturing organisation Racer Technology will be presenting the capabilities of its newly expanded 80,000 square feet manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia.

By investing in state-of-the-art features and implementing ISO Class 7 and 8 Cleanroom standards, Racer Technology can mould, bond and assemble client parts, as well as fill them with reagent and foil seal for shipping, all in one location, said deputy CEO Kenny Lee.

“This streamlines the typically complicated supply chain while mitigating additional costs as the process occurs within a single facility. It also helps to ensure documentation for regulatory submissions satisfies regulatory bodies for faster clearance or approval times.”

Mr Lee added that by acting as a platform for innovation and knowledge exchange, Medical Manufacturing Asia enables discussions on emerging trends and drives local manufacturers forward.

“We see this event as an opportunity to contribute to the development of Singapore’s medical sector and community, by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation and bringing new manufacturing capabilities and business opportunities to the region.”

ENABLING PRODUCTIVE PARTNERSHIPS

For start-ups, a fruitful partnership can act as rocket fuel for high-level growth. To forge meaningful connections between emerging entrepreneurs and established businesses, Dr Muthu Singaram, founder of Virtual International Business Accelerator – VibaZone, is curating the Start-Up Podium programme at Medical Fair Asia 2024.

The Start-Up Park is a platform for emerging healthcare start-ups to network with investors and industry players and gain insights through Start-Up Podium’s lineup of presentations by business leaders. This year, participating start-ups will highlight advancements in artificial intelligence, big data and wearable technologies within healthcare.

Dr Muthu shared that Start-Up Park 2024 will include a competition for start-ups, with the winner earning a spot at Medica, one of the largest global medical trade fairs held in Germany.

“This new format provides start-ups with a unique platform to showcase their innovations, gain visibility and attract potential investors and partners,” he explained. “We hope to foster a spirit of healthy competition, ultimately driving excellence and creativity within the start-up community.”

Stating that Medical Manufacturing Asia is a can’t-miss event for Racer Technology, Mr Lee noted that over a decade of consistent participation in the event has yielded significant business benefits.

“Our interactions from the last event have led to valuable partnerships and collaborations that have spurred business growth, strengthened our regional brand presence and refined our business model to better serve market demands,” he said. “Besides opening the door to new business opportunities, the event offers the perfect environment to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome our overseas clients to Singapore.”
