Hi, I’m Kayla Sprague, and welcome to our ALL ISRAEL Prayer points for August 22, as we gather to pray for Israel and the Jewish people.
Let’s first align our hearts with the wisdom of God as it’s written in Psalm 127:1: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”
With this truth in mind, we approach our prayers for Israel, seeking God’s perfect will and watchful care for His chosen people and for all the nation.
Let’s focus on the critical events shaping the region this week.
Our first prayer focus concerns the escalating conflict between Hezbollah and Israel in the north.
The persistent threat of rocket attacks has forced many Israeli families to evacuate their homes, significantly disrupting daily life.
Israeli children would not even be able to start their school year as normal due to the threat of Hezbollah’s rockets.
Our second prayer focus involves the impact on education, particularly for the children in northern Israel.
For the second consecutive year, schools along the northern border with Lebanon will not open as scheduled in September due to the ongoing violence.
Our final prayer focus addresses the critical ceasefire and hostage deal being negotiated right now.
It’s reportedly on the brink of collapse due to Hamas’ resistance.
So how can we pray specifically? Let’s turn to our prayer points.
Let’s pray for the protection and wisdom of Israel’s military and civilians, safety for Israeli civilians in the northern area and other conflict zones.
-
Discernment for the IDF commanders addressing threats from Hezbollah
-
Effective defense systems to intercept rocket attacks
-
Divine guidance in preventing further escalation
Let’s pray for children and families affected by the conflict
-
Comfort and stability for over 60,000 displaced civilians, including 14,000 children
-
Wisdom for educators and officials in providing alternate schooling options
-
Emotional and psychological support for children dealing with trauma and uncertainty, and a swift resolution to allow families to safely return to their homes
And lastly, let’s pray for negotiations and regional stability.
-
Breakthrough in the ceasefire and hostage negotiations
-
Wisdom for international mediators involved in peace talks right now
-
The weakening of Iran and the proxies of Hezbollah, Houthis and Hamas.
We need God’s intervention to bring about justice and lasting peace in the region.
As we conclude, let’s remember God’s promise in Zechariah 2:8: “For this is what the Lord Almighty says, after this glorious one has sent me against the nations that you have plundered, for whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye.”
We stand on this assurance, knowing that Israel is precious to God.
We ask Him to protect Israel, to guide its leaders and to bring peace to this region.
May His will be done in Israel as it is in heaven.
But what has God put on your heart to be praying over Israel?
We would love to hear from you. Share with us in the comments below so that we can be encouraged, as we’re all joining our prayers with those around the world.
Stay tuned for more updates and prayer points in the coming days.
May the God of Israel bless you and keep you. Shalom.
